donut place
This is a donut place. They had a big variety of donouts and they were just 55cents each, so you could eat a lot of them. I like it that they had a lot of "independent" restaurants in Ausin, not so many chains like mcdonalds, tacobell, burgerking, kfc, pizzahut, jack n jill donuts and so forth. A really good place was Wholefoods, a healthy eating place where everything was organic. I ate a big salad and drank some orange juice so I had to pay over 10 bucks, eating healthy is expensive... I miss pizzeria toto and the asia bistro in Germany, and I am going to miss all kinds of Tacos, burritos and chips with salsa in Germany...
Austin: another store (clothing, mask, rings)
Austin: the strange shop
This is one of those strange shops in Austin. We went there mostly on our first day.
This one was a shop who sold all kinds of old stuff, pictures, statues, strange stuff and so forth. It is really interesting because some things were quiet abstract while others were stupid or funny... It think this is the front of the store...
Tanner being a strong dragon fighting warrior.
All kinds of old pictures and other stuff.

More old stuff

Austin: 2. Hotel
Here are some pictures of our 2. hotel on congress street. It was actually a motel. We shared a 2 bed room with 5 people while benji, laura and kuleigh shared another one. I really liked being in there and we had a lot of fun cussing and hurting each other. There were just a few complains from other motel guests who were probably old and would have had more fun without 5 stupid immature guys laughing and jumping around. A very special thing in our room was that chase liked to get naked and fool around. Several fights evolved through this and I got a funny video where Chase gets hit with a wet towel (right spelling?) by Dylan.
The first picture is our bathroom. We at least tried to be rocknroll. I'm sorry it didn't work; that we fixed everything before leaving wasn't a contribution to our bad boy image either. We always slept more than one hour and didn't do any illegal drugs. Maybe next time...
The second picture shows a fight between Dylan and Chase.
The third is us eating pizza.
Austin: The crew
From left to right: Dylan, chase, tanner, tanners dad benji (I don't know how to spell it), tanners brother kuleigh (don't know how to spell either), gooman (actually dylan, too) who came a bit later (as mentioned in 'AUSTIN TX') and me. This was a delicious taco place with real good, small tacos. Austin is the best food city with healthy and vegetarian food!
This was on our way back home and a gas station. Here you can see tanners mom laura. Thanks to tanners parents for the great trip!
I don't know who this is...
Chase and his name. The other boys skated a grass hill.
Our first day. We walked along Congress Street and looked through the shops. I didn't buy anything but candy and food. I didn't buy anything else on this whole trip, just candy and food....
This was our first day, too. We ate in a "skateboard restaurant", a little cafe or whatever pretty skateboarding like. AFter that we wanted to skate, so we went to the car (that was when the picture was taken). We had a good session downtown (without any pictures or videos...)
On our first day, too. We went in a parking house because it was boring.
That was right at this skateboard food place. There is so much art everywhere in Austin. You can find many pictures on buildings and many stores related to art. I really liked this wall...
Same...
Laura and me, at the same spot as the picture taken on our way back (see above)
Tanners little brother on the way to Austin
Benji has his beer, is wife = smiling. There was so much free beer offered during our first day! In the back you can see on of those places; there were music shows in the back of stores along the street. That is really great, going in a shop, looking through weird and interesting stuff, going outside in the back of the shop, drinking free beers (not for minors) and listening to music.
Austin TX
So, I'm finally back from Austin!
It were 5 days of skateboarding, fun, friends and new experiences. I really, really like this town and could imagine spending some years in there. I know that some of you guys would love it. I was often too lazy to take pictures of everything, but I still have about 100 pictures to upload. Right now it's already 4 o'clock, I have still no school until monday. I try to upload and write as much as possible today.
3 signifcant pictures:
That's where our second hotel (we changed after 2 days because we wanted to be near to downtown) was. The street is called congress. There are many shops were you can buy a lot of clothing food or whatever. It's really busy and as you see not very far from downtown. On our first day there were a lot of things going on because of the big big concert which took place that night. We saw some parts of this FREE concert with 3 stages. It's really famous and big (it's called south by southwest or something). I was a bit sad because it reminded me somehow of home...

A weirdo called Tanner skating down a hill. That was the same night as the concert when we skated around downtown and looked for spots. As mentioned before I was kinda down that night. I felt physically uncomfortable, my ankle was hurting and I felt weird in general... It seemed to me that I was in a box (abilene) for the last 7 months and suddendly we came into this town full of punkrockers, health restaurants, weird shops/people and skatespots.. After that I had a really great time and I was dissapointed that we had to leave after 5 days.
That's me in a toy shop. I bought a bouncing ball (flummi). There was a pirat skull on it. We left the shop and went along a busy road. I played with the ball. "Gooman", the other skateboarder from Abilene who was in Austin at the same time and spent a few nights with us, asked me for it and instead of giving it to him I threw it against his back. After I repeated this it bounced on the street. A car drove over it while it was still bouncing, so it bouced under the car and it didn't come back. So the ball sticks in a car right now and travels around Austin, Texas, USA and maybe around the world.
